"Footsteps" tells of one girl's feelings after the death of her partner following depression.
Haunting memories vie with a sense of despair and desolation.

For those interested in the form of the music, the first and second themes both fluctuate between A major and A minor.  There is a middle section in F# minor, then during the return to A the two opening themes are set one against the other, before a short coda.
