"Heart of Scotland" was written in
response to an invitation from The Herald for a new song for
Scotland. One of the criteria was that the melody should be suitable for the pipes, and in
the recording the pipes are heard combined with church organ, which I hope you find
suitably stirring!
The sample page printed here, however, is very
straightforward, from the piano and voice version. This score, which also includes a
two-page vocal part, can be readily downloaded for a very modest fee - just click to link
to the classical music site tutti.co.uk:
A further two pages for an instrumental part, which
could equally be fiddle or flute etc, are included here with our compliments.
Notice at the end that the two main themes can be played together, for a rousing finale!
Other parts are available on request to ardrosshouse@btinternet.com
