To VIEW the music:
- The music is presented in a book format, and is
viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Two tips may prove useful:
- try pressing the F11 key to make more of the screen
available for the music (and F11 again to revert)
- to reduce the amount of screen that Windows Media Player
occupies, select its minimum option and basic format.
|
To PRINT the music:
- Each page can be printed separately - simply
remember to select the printer setting "fit to page".

To LISTEN to the music you will need to download a Media Player such as Windows
Media Player. Those sound files which are
still in MIDI format are very small and should play without buffer problems, however slow
your connection! The sound files which have been switched to wav format, on the
other hand, may not run smoothly unless you have changed over to a broadband connection.
(Note added October 2020 - the wav files will
certainly work and re the midi files: if clicked, my browser automatically
downloads them. Click a downloaded file and a media player will play it, and with the
player minimised the music can be read at the same time!)
A full version of pieces 1 - 16 can be heard by simply clicking on the
song's title. (Sorry, but because of copyright considerations, the melody parts to
numbers 17 - 26 are not shown here, nor are they included in the performances.)
In the violin and viola books, clicking on the opening bar of music will
play the piece as it is set out on the page, with a piano melody line and the accompanying
string part.
In the percussion book, clicking on the name of an individual
instrument will trigger a one-verse performance of that instrument.
A third alternative in the percussion book is to click the
recorder symbol alongside these pieces, which gives a peformance of all the percussion,
plus the recorder.
For those songs where the melody is not included (17 - 26):
In the violin and viola books, clicking on the opening bar will play the
string part as printed, plus the accompanying percussion part.
In the percussion book, again the individual instruments can be heard
separately, and also together by clicking the percussion symbol.
A
third alternative in the percussion book is a version without the melody but including the
violin part. Click the symbol.
Have fun.
